Course Description:
Two sociodrama programs in Brisbane, Queensland, in conjunction with the Moreno Collegiumm, led by Elizabeth Synnot & Rollo Browne, for change agents working within and across social systems.
Program 1: Sociodrama Applied in Work and Life
10-12 June 2010
Leaders, change agents, OD consultants, community developers, HR managers, sociodramatists and other helping professionals will experience and expand their ways of revitalising the social systems where they live and work. They will become more aware of the dynamics operating in those situations and understand their roles and their points of influence. This first program is designed for leaders and other change agents who are actively working to progress their social systems. Moreno's methodology is a uniquely powerful meta-theory invigorating all work with systems. His life principles, shaped by role theory and sociometry and applied in sociodramatic enactment, work well with more recent advances in social systems approaches.
This workshop is designed for all leaders, change agents and helping professionals working for social change. Participants will be invited to make progress in their organisational, community, family and work situations, by
- setting out and investigating the organisational, community and family systems
- experiencing the relationships and dynamics operating from different points of view
- making working hypotheses of the systems displayed and design possible interventions
- refining interventions and further develop action plans
- expanding role repertoires as wise revolutionaries and change agents
- engaging with individualized development that may arise in response to undertaking this demanding and complex work
You are encouraged to also attend Workshop 2 for further consolidation of learning and expansion of your professional identity.
Program 2: Training in Sociodrama
14-16 June 2010
This second program builds on the focus of the first. Sociodrama has as its aim the regeneration of life in participants and in revitalising the organisations, communities and families where they live and work. The focus in this group is the further integration of the roles of the sociodrama director into your practice. This training is potent and relevant for all group leaders. Your professional capacity will expand and you will be able to immediately apply elements of what is learnt at work and in your larger life. We will explore what is involved in a sociodramatic approach to group life.
- Refining judgement in applying sociometric principles and role theory to analysing social systems
- Leading, following and unifying group warm ups
- Sociodramatic questions and interventions
- Application of the group focal conflict model
- Directing sociodramas with supervision
- Planning and executing a sociodramatic intervention: leader led & group centred
